摘要：
Blockchain technology has come to prominence ever since cryptocurrencies have gained visibility for their ability to support peer to peer communication in an environment that supports distributed trust. Many applications that need distributed data sharing and automatic execution of legal contracts have been discussed in the literature. Given the need for secured access to patient data by those outside a hospital when and where a patient is has become the primary driver for exploring the viability of blockchain architecture in support of continuity of care. While the technology, with its ability to provide distributed number of care providers give access to select patient data (resource) in a secure manner with no single entity coordinating this effort, is ideal to support continuity of care, there is an important challenge. How to get these external stakeholders (care providers and patients) incentivized to use it? This paper develops a resource sharing model that can flexibly alter the resource shared within and outside the blockchain to support the needed incentive strategies. This model is illustrated using two sample case implementations and discusses how such a model can also help blockchain application developers make trade-off between operational flexibility and technical efficiency. This paper makes some concluding comments and extensions for future research.
